As the state Senate prepares to debate a bill that would begin webcasting from that chamber, Majority Leader, Belen Democrat Michael Sanchez, continues to warn against the perils of increasing legislative openness. KUNM's Jim Williams reports.

Gwyneth Doland, New Mexico Independent reporter, coordinated the webcast and blog in the Senate Rules Committee. She responded to Sanchez's comments late Wednesday, saying "live blogging is the equivalent of having a panel of commentators and audience members watching and sharing their thoughts on on an event as it happens." Doland said increasing numbers of people have been taking part in the webcasts, adding "we invite Senator Sanchez to join us any time." |
