Travis Parkin

Travis started DJing in high school, and has been with KUNM since November of 2004.  He started as a regular KUNM Afternoon Freeform host in September of 2005 - two days after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

A lifelong music collector, Travis Parkin is a local graphic designer who spends much of his normal working day tuned into the top Freeform and specialty-genre DJ's on Public Radio, CBC and BBCas part of his quest to identify and acquire musical gems that are distinctive, daring and enduring.

Travis combines his unique musical knowledge and extensive collection to create a radio experience worth noting in your day planner.  Every other Thursday, he hosts Afternoon Freeform, when you can expect to hear an innovative theme sweep show containing "some of the best music you've never heard."

Travis Parkin is also the Tuesday evening host of NPR's All Things Considered and can sometimes be heard as a fill-in DJ on All That Jazz, The Blues Show, The Children's Hour, and Overnight Freeform.  Visit Travis at TravisParkin.com.
