De cenizas, esperanza y un año nuevo

Photography: Benny The Icepick

Mon. 30 Dec. 7p: Host Adam Aguirre takes us to downtown Albuquerque to look at the aftermath of a fire that destroyed a physical part of the National Institute of Flamenco on December 18, and to discuss the impact of the fire and the future of the Institute with its world-renowned founder, Eva Encinias Sandoval.

We soon learn that the heart and soul of the flamenco arts are as strong and vibrant as ever, and filled with hope, faith and passion as 2014 brings the promise of a new year. The sun shines beautifully on the challenges that 2013 brought, and we are reminded that the beauty and the honesty that is the essence of Latino art and culture is also in what will guide us all through whatever 2014 will bring. Out of the ashes comes hope. Happy holidays y Feliz Año Nuevo!

Adam is the Host of Route 66 and a member of the KUNM Raices Collective.
