Sat. 5 July, 3p: Las Alegres Ambulancias (Happy Ambulances) originally from San Basilio de Palenque, Colombia, are bringing their Afro Colombian culture to New Mexico.
In their first day in the USA, they ´ll share their music with RAÍCES LIVE! en vivo! We will chat about their
500-year old cabildo/lumbalu culture and traditions. Their drummers will shake KUNM!

Las Alegres Ambulancias tour is funded by Southern Exposure, a partnership of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation. The New Mexico residency is a collaboration between the International Folk Art Alliance, AMP Concerts, and the National Hispanic Cultural Center with presenting partners at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago and the Center for Traditional Music and Dance in New York City.
