Is Peace Possible?
By LeeMerrill
Wed. 12/05 11a: The term “peace activist” often engenders ideas of longhaired hippies holding flowers and flashing two fingers to the camera.
But what is peace? What would world peace look like today? What does it mean to “be for world peace?” How do Indigenous people view the idea of peace? The phrase “bury the hatchet,” which is sometimes used to describe ending fighting, comes from a peacekeeping tradition of the Iroquois Confederacy.
Does peace mean the end of fighting among nations, or something more philosophical such as deep introspection to your own actions and thoughts around our interactions in daily life?
Guests TBA.
