Shooter In Custody, Two Victims Air-Lifted To Hospital After Roswell School Shooting

 

UPDATE 12:30p:

According to a spokesperson from Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, a 14 year old boy and a 13 year old girl were transported by ambulance from the scene of the Berrendo Middle School shooting to the hospital.  Both patients were stabilized and transferred to the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.  A spokesperson from the facility has confirmed that the girl is in serious condition and the boy is in critical condition.

The Albuquerque Journal is reporting that witnesses at the school saw a male student carrying a gun. That student then shot a boy in the face.

New Mexico State Police will be holding a press conference this afternoon.

 UPDATE 9:30a:

KRQE-TV is reporting that a hospital official has confirmed one female student who was injured in this morning's shooting at Berrendo Middle School in Roswell has been air-lifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

The shooter who fired shots at a Roswell middle school Tuesday morning is in police custody. KOAT-TV reports one shooting victim has been taken to the hospital. 

Police have locked down Berrendo Middle School and have advised parents not to go there to get their children. KOB-TV reports students are being taken to Roswell Mall for pickup.
