Sat. 7/14, 4p: The Harp is to Paraguayan music as the bandoneon is to Argentinian tango or the guitar to flamenco.  Musician, educator and actor, Nicolas Carter travels the world with one hand on his heart and the other on the harp.  From Paraguay to Minnesota, Carter mastered this unique instrument that is the essence of the Guaraní community.  He projects its sounds from Paraguayan folk music to magical horizons and beyond.

Thurs. 4/26 1:30p. Thursday April 26th marks the opening of the 35th Annual Gathering Of Nations Pow Wow in Albuquerque. It is the largest event of its kind in North America, dedicated to celebrating and sharing indigenous culture. Join Afternoon Freeform host Brandon Kennedy as he welcomes local native performers into the KUNM studios for live performance and conversation. Sat. 20/1, 4:15p: From Perugia (Italy), an interview with Prof. Alberto Bustos hosted by Cristina Baccin about his composition,  “Misa Tango” (Tango Mass), that presents the Catholic Mass through all the tango genres. It´s a courageous combination of prayer and the sensuality of tango's deeply rooted forbidden past –especially by the Argentinian Catholic Church-, with its origins in the brothels on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.
