Earlier this year, a controversial Mexican American Studies program in Tucson was banned. The Arizona state Superintendent of Schools, John Huppenthal says the program - which students could take instead of standard American history - was out of compliance with state laws which prohibit courses from fostering resentment. Tucson's school district is appealing the ban, but as Devin Browne reports for the Fronteras Changing America Desk, Huppenthal's decision means many teachers across the state are re-evaluating the way they teach history.
