Lynn Sanchez

Women's Focus 6/29--When suspected drug trafficking proved to include sex trafficking, Homeland Security officers turned to local advocates to help with relief for victims.

Lifelink's Lynn Sanchez, alerted that there were women victims exploited by a local motel in a drug and sex trafficking scheme, was there at the raid by law enforcement. She recounts providing shelter and other support-- with the help of NM Crime Victims Reparation in dealing with the large number of victims. The reaction of one child, "See, I knew that someone would help us."  After an investigation that lasted more than 9 months, DEA, Homeland Security, and APD shut down the motel and what they characterized as a  debt bondage scheme.
