Ear To The Ground

Saturday 7:00PM - 8:00PM

A local music showcase, featuring live performances by local talent.

Sat. 4/23 at 7pm

We'll be featuring Double Plow recorded live in Studio A. It's part two of their visit.

We'll also hear from The Tribute Trio on their just-released CD "Dedications," the culmination of their year-long traveling concert series.

Sat. 3/5 at 7pm: Featured guest is Santa Fe singer/songwriter Kito Peters talking about his new CD with Jono Manson "Tip My Hat" and playing unreleased songs from an as-yet untitled project.

More about Kito Peters

Sat. 12/11: Tonight's show features an in-studio visit from Ojo Sarco's own Boris McCutcheon playing songs from his new release "Wheel of Life" and talking with host Matthew Finch about the making of the album.

He also addresses one of the Great Mysteries: why are Southwestern artists so popular in The Netherlands?

Also, DJ Travieso catches up with The Ox Boyz (of the original Xit) backstage at the Native American Music Awards.

Sat. 3/20: Hear the first part of a new recording from The Alex Maryol Band, live from Studio A.

On this fundraising edition of "Ear to the Ground" we feature Part One of a new recording of The Alex Maryol Band live from Studio A. We'll also hear solo work from band members Willy Magee and Andy Primm.

Sat. 3/13: This special features a unique take on a rarely told chapter of Irish-American history - the story of the "San Patricio Battalion," and Irish immigrant soldiers in the US-Mexican War who deserted their US posts to fight for the Mexican side.

Paddy Maloney of the Chieftans, Ry Cooder, members of the Mexican-American band Los Cenzontles, and Irish historian Peter F. Stevens discuss the history of the San Patricio Battalion, the kinship between Irish and Mexican cultures, and how they relate to the music from this project that is featured in the special.
