Ethnic Studies And Institutional Racism

Charley Dejolie

Sun. 2/15 7p: Over the past several years, there has been a backlash on Ethnic Studies curriculum. We’ve seen it in places like Tucson, AZ., where books by Chicano and Native authors were banned. This Sunday, we’ll be talking with Chicano Studies teacher at Albuquerque High School, Veronica Medina, and some of her students about how Ethnic Studies has changed their lives and why these classes are critical at the high school level. We’ll also be joined by State Senator Linda Lopez to discuss her memorial to address institutional racism in New Mexico.
