Are you trying to figure out how to get to the polls on Tuesday?
Some ride-sharing companies, cities and local political parties are offering free or discounted rides to polling stations on Election Day.
A lack of transportation can be a barrier for some people who want to cast their ballots. But there are a few ways to make it out this year.
One way to get to the polls for free is to hop on one of Albuquerque's public buses and head to your nearest voting location. The city will be running free fares all day Tuesday. Find the routes here.
Lyft is offering 50 percent off rides to polling places on Tuesday wherever the app is available. That includes cities like Albuquerque and Santa Fe as well as smaller communities like Gallup and Las Vegas. Just use the code VOTE N-M on your app come Election Day.
And Uber is offering a $10 discount to polling places on Tuesday. You can use that deal through the app’s poll locator.
The state’s Republican and Democratic parties will take voters to the polls as well, free of charge. They say people just need to call their offices and ask for a ride.
And the city of Albuquerque will have a shuttle giving free rides on Tuesday to a polling station at Washington Middle School in the southwest part of town. There are nine pickup locations with the shuttle stopping at each one every hour. The last pickup time is at 3:05.
