We'll learn how the river looked in the past, what it's doing now, and what we can expect for the future. The Rio Grande stretches a magical 2,401 miles, from its source in Colorado, all the way to the far southern border of the United States. Joining us is Jennifer Scheutz from the Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Project.  Plus, the cast of James and the Giant Peach will roll through the studio.

2/8, 9am: Kids will learn media literacy skills this Saturday with the lessons brought to us by the Media Literacy Project. 

UPDATE Feb. 19, 2014, at 1 p.m.: SJR 12 is stuck in committee. A measure that would tie the state's minimum wage to inflation passed the Senate and is awaiting a vote in the House.

Today marked the start of the legislative session and Celebrating Children and Youth Day at the Roundhouse.

Safety Tips for Kids in Public Places

12/7 9am:  How can kids stay safe in public places?  We'll be joined by  Albuquerque Police Department's Officer Steve Sink who will talk with us being street smart and safe.  And, kids from the Outpost's Homeschool Opera will give us a live performance in our studio. Plus, we'll have the history of the day, great music, a family events calendar and the KUNM Kids Birthday Club.
