Mon. 2/5, 7:30p: Interview and live performance by flamenco guitarist Juani de la Isla.  From the Island of San Fernando (Cádiz, Spain) a place known as the cradle of late Flamenco vocalist Camarón de la Isla, Juani de la Isla has accompanied renowned flamenco singers such as José Mercé, Chato de la Isla, Juan Villar among others. He has composed music for the flamenco dance company of Cristina Hoyos. In this show, you´ll listen to his fine guitar and a conversation about his own compositions for his new solo album "Libertad en mis manos" ("Freedom in my hands"), co-hosted by Cristina Baccin and Bobby Gutierrez

Juani de la Isla will host "Flamenco without borders", a workshop in the rythms of flamenco brought by  Casa Flamenca(401 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM), Sunday February 11th, 4-6pm, sponsored by Instituto Andaluz de Flamenco, "All Flamenco", Brilliant Sounds, La Isla Ciudad Flamenca and more.

Bobby Gutierrez is a lifelong New Mexican, is a photographer, radio host, and glazier. His work with two local collectives, Raíces of KUNM and Humans of New Mexico, focuses on celebrating the culture and people of the state. In addition to contributing his photography to HNM he also helps produce the monthly "Humans of New Mexico" show for Espejos de Aztlán and co-hosts the music show "Raíces".
