Albuquerque, NM – Author of the bestselling book "Woman Who Glows in the Dark," Elena Avila was instrumental in bringing the traditional healing practice of curanderismo into public consciousness.

Here she talks with long-time friend, Soledad Hindi, about her rocky path from housewife, to nurse, to curandera. Elena Avila passed away in March of this year.
