Update: Crews Fighting Blaze Near Pecos

New Mexico State Forestry Crews are responding to the Tres Lagunas fire burning in the Pecos Canyon area of the Santa Fe National Forest.

Officials believe the now 1,000 acre wildfire was started yesterday afternoon by a downed power line.

About 130 homes and seasonal residences are considered to be threatened by the fire and have been evacuated. So far no structures have burned.

About 200 crew members are on the scene to help fight the blaze, which is about 5% contained.
