We'll look at how cyclists can be safe and whether communities and drivers are doing their part. Are there enough bike lanes, bike boulevards and bike paths for cyclists to use in your community? Are these efforts enough? Is the responsibility on cyclists or drivers to make roads safe for bicycles?
Cycling fatalities are on the rise according to a 2017 report by the Governors Highway Safety Association. One study from 24/7 Wall Street put Albuquerque as the number one most dangerous city for cyclists. In Santa Fe a few members of the group Santa Fe Seniors on Bikes were injured earlier this month.
