Carol Boss talks with poet Lauren Camp about her new Dorset-Prize winning collection, One Hundred Hungers. She explores the lives of a first-generation Arab-American girl and her Jewish-Iraqi father and tells stories of food and ritual, immigration and adaptation.
Camp evokes Baghdad in the 1940's when tensions began to emerge along ethnic and religious lines. She also draws upon her own memories, such as those of Sabbath dinners in America, to reveal how family culture persists.
