Musica Montana: Baroque Sonatas for the Alpine Courts
The duo "Musicke's Cordes" performs a concert of Baroque chamber music at San Miguel Chapel on May 4 at 7:00 pm. The program features instrumental works composed by performers working in courts in northern Italy and Austria. Titled "Musica Montana," the concert includes works by Schmelzer, Muffat and other composers who composed for Alpine courts and chapels.
"Musicke's Cordes" is a period music ensemble, performing on replicas of instruments from the 17th century. Samuel Breene plays Baroque violin while his partner, Jeffrey Noonan, plays various lutes, early guitars and theorbo. The duo has performed across the country for over a decade with concerts up and down the Eastern seaboard and across the Midwest. While the duo has performed in Colorado, this concert will be its first performance in Santa Fe.
