Sister Helen Prejean

Scott Langley

Sat. 1/23 Women's Focus,12p: Carol Boss will be featuring one of the earliest interviews with Sister Helen Prejean that she recorded in 1995 after Sister Helen's book Dead Man Walking was published.  The Louisiana nun became one of the leaders in the movement to abolish the death penalty and has worked actively on behalf of both death row inmates and family members of murder victims.

Carol also talks with two emerging superstars in the science world who are tackling gender inequality in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) by inspiring the next generation of pioneers and showing young girls they can use science to change the world for the better.  Kimberley Miner is a climate scientist and Karina Popovich is a college student whose company, "Makers for Covid-19", is 3D-printing personal protective equipment for medical professionals on the frontlines.
