Perry Plan Would Make Big Changes To Washington
At an Iowa town hall meeting Tuesday, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry laid out a plan to, as he put it, uproot and overhaul the federal government. Among other things, Perry would end life-time tenure for federal judges including those on the Supreme Court, and make members of Congress take a 50 percent pay cut.

Afghan Council To Consider U.S. Partnership Pact
Despite threatened attacks by the Taliban, Afghan President Hamid Karzai has convened a grand assembly in the capital Kabul. Among other things being discussed, is the prospect of a strategic partnership with the United States that would keep American troops in the country after the 2014 drawdown.

But with one week go to before the so-called supercommittee is supposed to announce a deficit-reduction plan, it's still far from certain that the lawmakers will reach that goal.
Petition Asks Target To Open Later On Black Friday
Target is scheduled to open at midnight on Black Friday. Target employee Anthony Hardwick of Nebraska started the petition asking the retail chain to open later. He says before working all night, he'd have to miss a Thanksgiving gathering to get enough sleep.

President Obama has one less thing to worry about, thanks to an Australian insurance company. On his visit down under, he's insured against a crocodile attack. When he gets to the town of Darwin, he'll be presented with a $51,000 policy.

Mike McQueary has been under fire because a grand jury report said he never spoke with police about the alleged 2002 sexual attack on a young boy in a Penn State locker room. He's defended his actions in an email.
House Panel Votes To End Fannie, Freddie Bonuses
The House Financial Services Committee voted on Wednesday to suspend nearly $13 million in bonuses paid to executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The measure would also prohibit future bonuses. The Senate is expected to take up similar legislation.
