Benjamin Purper came to KCBX in May of 2021 from California’s Inland Empire, where he spent three years as a reporter and Morning Edition host at KVCR in San Bernardino. Dozens of his stories have aired on KQED’s California Report, and his work has broadcast on NPR's news magazines, as well. Jered Ebenreck has volunteered in community radio for 30 years--from college radio in Maryland to KGNU, Boulder to WOMR, Provincetown to KUNM in 2004. Jered did Public Health reporting and analysis for KUNM from 2021-2022, while pursuing a graduate program in Public Health at UNM, with an emphasis on Social Ecology. Jered, with the help of his partner, is a caregiver for his mother with Alzheimer's.

Katie Stone is the host and producer of The Children's Hour radio show and podcast. The show's goal is to bring informative, entertaining and engaging radio programming to listeners of all ages, showcasing local kids and kid-friendly organizations, while involving kids in all aspects of the production. Katie works with a crew of dedicated children who help produce the show, including writing and voicing scripts and reviews, helping choose jokes, show themes, music and guests, and assisting in all aspects of the live broadcast. Katie also reaches into the community, with regular live broadcasts from venues across New Mexico. She also partners with teachers to create radio shows for class projects, and joins with community organizations to bring kids voices to public radio. She hopes everyone listening comes away with new knowledge about the topic du jour. Katie started in radio when she was just 14 years old at WDGC-fm in Downers Grove, Illinios. Katie is the executive director of The Children's Hour, Inc, a New Mexico nonprofit dedicated to creating and distributing public radio for kids. The show is produced at the Sun Spot Solar Studio. Katie and her husband have raised four kids, and are delighted to be grandparents. They live in a handmade house on a solar powered organic farm in Albuquerque near the Rio Grande tending their orchard, gardens, chickens, children, a llama, cats, dogs, fish and thousands of bees.
