Join us for the family-friendly Harvest & Fiber Festival at the native wildlife zoo. Experience an old west atmosphere and rich history of pinto bean farming, along with local artists, and fresh vegetables for sale. The Heart of NM Fiber Gathering will showcase 20 artists and demonstrations of yarn spinning, knitting and lace making. Visitors can feel the coasts of Cashgora goats, llamas, and debouillet and ramouillet sheep. Learn about spinning to the finished product. Go into the wildlife zoo to see Koshari, 500-pound black bear, get eye to eye with 2 curious cougars, find all 4 adorable tree climbing grey foxes and get close to a magnificent Bald Eagle, along with 20 other species of native wildlife and raptors. Knights of Columbus volunteers serve up fresh sweet corn, hamburgers and hot dogs along with other food vendors.

Stay for the last Family Music Festival of the season with the energetic Watermelon Mountain Jug band at 4:30 p.m. and the bluegrass band Duke City Swamp Coolers at 7 p.m. Between performs watch a free-flight raptor presentation. Music performances are held in a covered all-weather amphitheater with free parking.
