Join us for the family-friendly Heart of New Mexico Fiber & Art Gathering at the native wildlife zoo. Experience an old west atmosphere and rich history of pinto bean farming, along with local artists. The gathering will showcase 25 artists featuring raw wool to yarn, wool and alpaca handcrafted items. Artists include but are not limited to many mediums of fine art, baskets, bags, jewelry, pottery and more. Visitors can feel the coasts of Debouillet and Valias sheep, llamas and alpacas. Learn about spinning to the finished product. Go into the wildlife zoo to see the newest arrival a young black bear, get eye to eye with 2 curious cougars, find all 4 adorable tree climbing grey foxes and get close to a magnificent Bald Eagle, along with 20 other species of native wildlife and raptors. food vendors will be available.
