A man shot by an Albuquerque police officer reportedly is hospitalized and in critical condition.
The Albuquerque Journal reports the man is being treated for a gunshot wound in the upper chest.
The man's name hasn't been released.
The Journal says the man was shot during an undercover drug sting after he pulled a weapon on an officer Monday afternoon.
A police spokesman will only say that the shooting occurred at a restaurant parking lot in southwest Albuquerque and one suspect has been transported to the hospital.
Civil rights advocates have been calling for a federal probe of the Albuquerque police department for its high number of officer-involved shootings.
Monday's shooting brings to 25 the number of officer-involved shootings since 2010. Seventeen of those were fatal.
