State legislators passed a $6.3 billion budget on Wednesday night. A surplus in state revenue made things easier this year, but it also brought new challenges, said Senate Majority Leader Peter Wirth.
“There were compromises, some of them I like, some of them I don’t. But, at the end of the day I think the product that’s being sent up to the governor is a good budget and one that I’m very hopeful she will sign,” Wirth said.
The budget restores funding to public schools and includes money for broadband infrastructure and road maintenance.
