5/23, Alb.--New Secretary Elizabeth Groginsksy readies the way that has been in the plans for some years. Launch of NM Early Childhood and Care Dept-July 1.
Groginsky has been here since December, getting to know the state and working on the functions of the new agency. Her background is in Head Start and early learning for United Way Worldwide and the Education Dept in Washington D.C. "We have to be embracing and uplifting the language and the culture of the people of New Mexico and really lifting that up. This state is so rich in language and culture, so how do we bring that forth in such a way that becomes the asset and the strength that moves us up from 50th......?....so much strength coming from that diversity...."
