One hundred years ago the Spanish Colonial Arts Society launched with the goal of collecting and preserving New Mexico Hispanic art. It also created the annual Spanish Market. A centennial exhibition about the society is currently at the Nuevo Mexicano Heritage Arts Museum in Santa Fe.

"It is person to person, people to people, animal to human, these relationships represented in the parka," said co-curator Melissa Shaginoff.
