A Book Signing and Talk on the Japanese Americans of New Mexico and Nevada, with Dr. Andy Russell
To help launch historian Andrew (Andy) Russell's first book, "Like Friends, Like Foes: Japanese Americans and Nevada through Wolrd War II," the New Mexico Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) is hosting a talk and book signing by Dr. Russell at the new Japanese American Cultural Center (1501 San Pedro Dr., NE) on Saturday, April 25, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Russell was the lead historian and writer for the very popular "CLOE Project" (Confinement in the Land of Enchantment), and his PowerPoint presentation that Saturday will compare the wartime experiences of Japanese American residents of Nevada versus New Mexico. His new book will be available for purchase and signing by the author, and light refreshments will be served. This is the start of a book tour that encludes scheduled engagements at various museums, libraries and bookstores in Nevada, California, and elsewhere.
Note: Reporters or screeners of this submission should contact Andy Russell at the email below, rather than the JACL. Please do not distribute Andy's email address in general announcements.
