The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is thrilled to announce the return of its popular Discover STEAM Day! This exciting event offers a unique opportunity for families to explore the fascinating world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) through fun, hands-on activities led by local experts.
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10 AM to 3 PM
This year’s event features two iconic guests who will be on-site to inspire and entertain visitors:
• Orbit, the beloved mascot of the Albuquerque Isotopes, is scheduled to make a special appearance at 11 am to bring some "atomic energy" to the festivities and greet fans of all ages.
• Einstein Live!: Witness history come to life with Thomas Schuch, a renowned impersonator of Albert Einstein. “Einstein” will mingle and chat with visitors about the importance of science, inspire curiosity about the world, and encourage lifelong learning.
• Engaging and Creative Activities: Test your flying skills, delve into the wonders of rocket science, learn what makes airplanes fly, build a plastic-bag hot air balloon, explore the power of AI computing, and so much more STEAM activities.
• Learning & Fun for All Ages: With a wide range of interactive exhibits and demonstrations, Discover STEAM Day is designed for visitors of all ages. Whether you're a budding scientist or just curious to learn more, you can explore the world of STEAM at your own pace, focusing on the activities that pique your interest.
At the end of the visit, participants will receive a custom button for participating in the interactive experiences!
This event is included with museum admission; all museum members can attend for free.
