Join local artist, Sara Edenburn Harper, as she shares with us about the traditional Mexican practice of retablos and the nichos made to protect and honor them. We’ll explore the Retablo’s currently on display at the NMSU Art Museum’s exhibition “Icons & Retablos: The Blessings of Christ on Home Altars” learning more about their traditional use in home altars. Participants will also get the chance to make their own decorated paper nicho to take home and share. All supplies for this project will be provided so just bring yourself and your friends!
