Ms. Mendez is a National Endowment for the Arts recipient and was voted Best Female Vocalist by the Santa Fe Reporter's Best of Readers Poll in 2009 and 2010. On February, Ms. Mendez was recognized by the New Mexico Committee of the National Museum for Women in the Arts for her life-long achievements and commitment to her art form.
