Trump Takes A Swipe At Gov. Martinez
Donald Trump rallied supporters at the Albuquerque Convention Center Tuesday night.
The apparent Republican nominee for president’s speech included familiar themes – the U.S economy, global trade, immigration and his plan to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Protesters repeatedly disrupted his talk, unfurling banners or chanting "stop the hate." Unfazed, he had them removed each time.
Trump railed on Hillary Clinton, called Bernie Sanders crazy – and took a swipe at New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez.
"Since 2000, the number of people on food stamps in New Mexico has tripled. We have to get your governor to get going. She’s gotta do a better job. Ok? She’s not doing the job," he said.
Gov. Martinez, who is a Republican, has not endorsed Trump and told media outlets she was too busy to attend his rally.
According to KOAT-TV, her office called Trump’s attacks ‘potshots’ and said she won’t be bullied into supporting a candidate until she’s convinced they’ll fight for New Mexicans.
