Wed. 6/13 8a: In a case that dates back to 1993 indigenous groups and subsistence farmers sued oil giant Texaco for polluting an area the size of Rhode Island in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Texaco is now owned by Chevron, and Chevron lost the case but claims the trial was a fraud and refuses to pay $19 billion in damages. Now lawyers for the plaintiffs are going after Chevron’s assets in countries other than Ecuador
