KUNM Call In Show Thu. 3/13 8a: New Mexico is perpetually at or near the bottom of state child well-being rankings. New Mexico's children are and have been at risk for abuse, poverty, hunger, and other issues that affect their ability to learn, grow, and be health.

Recent high-profile child abuse cases are drawing attention to these issues, but are New Mexico's children actually suffering more or are we just hearing more about it?  What can be done by state and private agencies, schools and communities to reduce the risks New Mexico's children face and end tragic cycles of abuse?

We'd like to hear from you! Email callinshow@kunm.org, post your comments online, or call in live during the show.

Guests:

  • Senator Michael Padilla (D-Abq)
  • Krisztina Ford, Director, All Faiths
  • Colleen Heild, Investigative Reporter, The Albuquerque Journal
