The trauma created by Native American boarding schools has affected generations of people and this week, the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition will hold listening sessions in Albuquerque for Indigenous elders to record their experiences.

The Department of the Interior released a highly anticipated report Wednesday documenting the history of the harmful and deadly Native American boarding school system in the United States. The investigation documented "systematic and militarized practices" spanning 150 years at over 408 schools around the country.
