Valles Caldera Preserve

This year, five artists from around the country were chosen for the Valles Caldera summer artist-in-residence program, where creatives will spend up to four weeks totally immersed in the area’s surreal volcanic landscape.

On Saturday, the National Park Service will wrap-up a 30-day public comment period proposing to re-introduce entrance fees for the much-beloved Valles Caldera National Preserve.

The U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are at the center of a lawsuit put forward by several conservation groups accusing the federal government of failing to protect endangered species on the Valles Caldera Preserve.
