Nomad Ensemble's "Between Heaven & Earth" - String Quartets
Nomad Ensemble's "Between Heaven and Earth" features string quartets that reflect an intimate harmony between art and common experience. With Socorro's own Eric Sewell and Ruxandra Marquardt on violin, Cory McBride on viola, and Lisa Donald on cello, performing ancient Welsh tunes from Ralph Vaughn Williams; hymn tunes from Charles Edward Ives, compositions from Heitor Villa-Lobos, who was part of a generation of Latin-American composers who delved deeply into history and folklore for inspiration; and Ottorino Respighi, one of the leading Italian composers of the early 20th century. Socorro's own Eric Sewell is curator and host. He has a rare talent for orchestrating intriguing, thought provoking yet accessible chamber music programs. This concert is free admission or pay as you wish, courtesy of NM Tech's President Mayhar Amouzegar. Families are welcome.
