Queer and Trans Family Picnic

Queer and Trans Family Picnic
Albuquerque, NM – Join us on Saturday, May 27th from 11:00 am– 3:00 pm – for the Health Equity Alliance for LGBTQ+ New Mexicans’ (HEAL Plus NM) Queer and Trans family picnic, to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride, community, and health during this picnic in the park.
This will be an intergenerational community event celebrating LGBTQ+ families. Activities and resources will include children’s parachute games, field games, free family portraits by professional photographers, free lunch, free COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for ages 6 months and up (no ID, insurance, or appointment needed), live music from Eileen & the in-betweens, and Conservation Carnivale circus performances and activities.
HEAL Plus NM considers a queer and trans family to be any family that has one or more member that is lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, questioning, transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, pansexual, asexual, intersex, Two-Spirit, or other diverse genders or sexualities. This includes nonbinary parents of young children, families with a lesbian child, aunties and uncles of LGBTQ+ youth, gay grandparents, and many other configurations of family. We hope to build community connections and support within and around the LGBTQ+ communities, which is a proven protective factor for health and well-being among queer and trans people.
Health Equity Alliance for LGBTQ+ New Mexicans (HEAL Plus NM) is a community nonprofit that works to achieve health equity and promote well-being for lesbian, gay, bisexual, two-spirit, transgender, gender non-conforming, queer, intersex, asexual, and pansexual (LGBTQ+) people through community organizing, education, advocacy, and messaging.Visit www.healplusnm.org to lean more!
