Flood, Flash Flood Warnings For Eastern New Mexico

UPDATE 10/21 5a: Much of New Mexico east of the central mountain chain is under a flood or flash flood watch today. The National Weather Service says storms may produce 1 inch of rain per hour and some hail may clog drainages, exacerbating flooding.

Areas where soil is already saturated, burn scars from wildfires, steep areas and low areas are at the most risk for flooding today.

The warnings are in effect until late tonight.

There's also a winter weather advisory for the high elevations of the northern mountains with 4 to 8 inches of snow likely in Taos, 5 to 9 inches in Eagle Nest throughout the day and overnight.
