Music! It drives us to hit the dance floor and creates the landscape of our memorable moments in life. Seeing that music is so influential it is the perfect opportunity to inquire about the people who make the music we listen to. How are musicians faring after taking a year off from performing publicly? What about the venues where we gather to rock with our favorite bands or DJ’s?

The Children's Hour, Sat 3/2 9a: We are broadcasting live from the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale SE in Albuquerque, and you’re invited to be in our audience! Doors open at 8:30am, admission is totally FREE and everyone is welcome to join us.  Recycleman, Kevin Kinane will be bringing instruments for every child to play along with him. Plus, we’ll have the ABQ Jazz Quartet, comprised of four young people who have had years of training at the Outpost Jazz school.  We’ll also celebrate Dr. Seuss’s 115th birthday.

Puerto Rican artist Mariano Morales spoke with Raíces hostess Cristina Baccin about a special concert dedicated to the people of Puerto Rico. Latin Grammy Award-winning flutist Néstor Torres joined in the conversation from Barbados. Music as an empowering tool and the embrace that Puerto Rican music and culture offers are some of the topics of this joyful conversation.
