The free Placitas Studio Tour, traditionally held over Mother’s Day Weekend has now become a three-day event, beginning Friday, May 8 and continuing through Mother’s Day Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 10am-5pm all three days.

Nestled in the base of the northern Sandia Mountains, forty-eight studios scattered throughout beautiful Placitas will host sixty-two artists for its 29th Annual Placitas Studio Tour. What makes the tour different from other studio tours is, only artists who live or have their full-time studio in Placitas can participate in the tour. This unique opportunity offers a once-a-year-behind-the-scenes opportunity to visit artists’ studios where inspiration and creativity merge into amazing art.

Creations in paintings, steel, pottery, glass, fiber, mosaic, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, wood, photography, gourd art, paper, metal, wearables, mixed media and so much more will be for sale.

The public is invited to the free Preview Exhibit at the Placitas Community Library which offers a month-long exhibition featuring work by all sixty-two participating artists. The exhibit will be open to the public from April 14th to May 10th, in the Gracie Lee Community Room at the Library located at 453 NM State Hwy 165. Placitas, NM is located off I-25 between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. From I-25, take Exit #242 and turn east on Highway 165 to Placitas. Follow the colorful blue and yellow tour signs to each studio.
