  • Florian Knowles is a senior at the University of New Mexico and is getting his degree in video journalism. Originally from Aurora, Colorado, Florian is now happy to call Albuquerque home. When he’s not reporting, Florian likes to cook (and eat said cooking). His previous journalistic experience includes being an audience engagement intern at Chalkbeat and a research intern for the New Mexico Local News Map.
  • Gus Tafoya is a filmmaker, artist, writer and performer born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico. They graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production and plan to pursue dramatic writing in both film and theatre. Gus hosts Morning Edition and All Things Considered on KUNM on a substitute basis. In the future, Gus hopes to continue producing new dramatic works that forward the understanding and situation of the contemporary New Mexican.
  • Mark Haslett began work in public radio in 2006 at High Plains Public Radio in Garden City, Kansas. Haslett has worked for newspapers and radio stations across the Southwest and earned numerous Texas AP Broadcasters awards for news reporting. His work has been broadcast across Texas NPR member stations, as well as the NPR Newscast and All Things Considered.
  • Mia Casas graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in Journalism and Theatre. She came to KUNM through an internship with the New Mexico Local News Fund and stayed on as a student reporter as of fall 2023. She is now in a full-time reporting position with the station, as well as heading the newsroom's social media.
