New Mexico History Museum

“A Question of Power” highlights the successful campaign by Sarah Jane White, Lucy Willie and Molly Hogue, three Diné women that helped stop a coal-fired power plant on the Navajo Nation. The exhibit features 40 black and white photographs by Carlan Tapp including video and audio interviews. He documented residents on the Navajo Nation between 2004-2011 alongside the Diné women.

A new exhibit called “A Question of Power” will be at the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe tells the story of three Diné women who helped defeat a controversial power plant on the Navajo Nation.

This summer, people will gather in Santa Fe to celebrate the burning of a giant effigy named Zozobra – a tradition held close to the hearts of Norteños for almost a century.
