Voters can now find New Mexico political candidates’ views on things like gun violence, education, public land use and climate change on a website put together by two children's advocacy organizations.

The New Mexico Pediatric Society and New Mexico Voices for Children launched youdecidenm.org in August.

Pediatric society president Brian Etheridge said it’s a resource for voters to hear from candidates on more detailed questions.

"What we're trying to do is draw attention to various issues that obviously affect children," Etheridge said.

Etheridge said they asked candidates from six races: the governor’s race, U.S. Senate, New Mexico’s three congressional districts and the state land commissioner's race.

Not all candidates in those races submitted answers in time for the launch, but Etheridge said they will update the website as they come in.
