The NMSU Art Museum is pleased to present On the Edge, an exhibition that traces the trajectory of Shirley Crow’s career, exploring an artistic practice grounded in a lasting sense of wonder about the mysteries of the universe. Spanning nearly fifty years, and including pastel, ink, graphite, and oil, Crow’s work invites viewers to experience her intuitive visual language informed by the magic of creativity and an ongoing questioning of our existence. Opening reception for Shirley Crow: On the Edge is on October 16 from 5:30-7:30 pm, and will be on display through July 17, 2027.
The NMSU Art Museum proudly presents Marietta Patricia Leis: Breathing Lessons, a major career retrospective by renowned New Mexico-based artist Marietta Leis. The exhibition reflects Leis’s exploration of color, time, movement, and place across a diverse range of media, including: video, painting, photography, sculpture, poetry, and sound. Opening reception for Marietta Patricia Leis: Breathing Lessons is on October 16 from 5:30-7:30 pm, and will be on display through March 6, 2027.

Mendelssohn: String Symphony No. 12 Elgar: Serenade for Strings Sibelius: Andante Festivo Nielsen: Little Suite Holst: St. Paul’s Suite
Felix Mendelssohn wrote his remarkable String Symphony No. 12 during his teenage years, a work that is both captivating and a glimpse of the genius yet to come. From the joyful exuberance of Holst’s St. Paul’s Suite and Nielsen’s Little Suite to the noble beauty of Sibelius’s Andante Festivo and the sparkling virtuosity of Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, enjoy a morning showcasing the warmth, brilliance, and expressive range of the NMPhil string section in music spanning two centuries.
Unearthing Futures / Desenterrando Futuros explores contemporary earthen artworks, establishing a profound dialogue between regional roots and global perspectives. As visitors engage with the exhibition, they embark on a journey through time, examining the intricate relationship between humanity and the elemental material of unfired earth.

The Albuquerque Abstract Artists Alliance's art exhibit, ¡VIVA! EARLY CLOSURE AT 3PM ON MARCH 20TH DUE TO PRIVATE EVENTIn honor of the 50th anniversary of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC), this exhibition highlights the Center’s history through Pueblo imagery and perspectives of the past, present, and future. A combination of fifty objects from the IPCC’s Collections and Archives, with an emphasis on Pueblo pottery, illustrates the significance of the Center as a gathering place where Pueblo arts and culture are celebrated by visitors from around the world and, at once, nurtured by Pueblo communities across the generations. Gallery videos, updated throughout the year, will feature interviews with Pueblo artists, scholars, and culture bearers that present insider views of the IPCC. Join us to celebrate the exhibition on March 21 from 5-8pm during our free, public reception.
