Blackout Theatre is proud to present a free community screening of "Nite School: Up, Up, and Away!” on October 15 at Tractor - Wells Park. Nite School is a “comeducational” web series blending Blackout’s signature sketch comedy with lessons in New Mexico history. The landmark 10th episode delves into the history of hot air ballooning in New Mexico, with visits to the Balloon Museum and the iconic annual Balloon Fiesta.
“Nite School: Up, Up, and Away!” premieres Wednesday, October 15 at 7PM, Tractor Brewing - Wells Park. Admission is free to the public. Individuals under 21 must be accompanied in the taproom by a parent or guardian. Nite School is proudly supported by the Urban Enhancement Trust Fund.

The exhibition marks the Spanish Colonial Arts Society's centennial by telling its century-long story of creating and caring for an extraordinary trove of nearly 4,000 objects representing the distinctive Hispano heritage of New Mexico. This provides a unique lens on the Society’s legacy of connecting to a community of artists and supporters of Hispano arts in New Mexico and beyond.
An opening reception for a new exhibition featuring works by the 2025 recipients of the Governor's Awards for Excellence in the Arts will be hosted in the Governor’s Gallery on the fourth floor of the Roundhouse. The exhibit will be on display until Dec. 26, 2025, and admission to the exhibit is free. This year's awardees are Peter "Amahl" Amaral, Kevin Box, Alden Timothy Cox, Keshet Dance Company & Center for the Arts, Cannupa Hanska Luger (Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara, Lakota), Nacha Mendez (Chihene Nde Nation), and Connie Voisine.

The annual Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts will honor artists and a major contributor to the arts on Thursday, Oct. 16, 5:00 p.m. at the St. Francis Auditorium at New Mexico Museum of Art followed by a public reception in the courtyard with light refreshments. This year's recipients are Peter “Amahl” Amaral of Albuquerque, Kevin Box of Cerrillos, Alden Timothy Cox of Bloomfield, Keshet Dance Company & Center for the Arts from Albuquerque, Cannupa Hanska Luger (Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara, Lakota) of Glorieta, Nacha Mendez (Chihene Nde Nation) of Santa Fe, and Connie Voisine of Las Cruces. The annual Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts is a prestigious annual award that recognizes both individuals and organizations and acknowledges the considerable role, both economic and cultural, that artists, craftspeople, and arts supporters play in New Mexico.
