A collaborative effort including MainStreet de Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Arts Council, Las Vegas First, and the City of Las Vegas.

Somewhere between the halls of Chouinard Art Institute and the industrial warehouses and artist lofts of Los Angeles in the 1960's, three young artists met. Each skilled, hungry, and with a restless energy that helped to propel them headlong onto the world stage as rare artistic talents. Later, in 1987, when Charlotte Jackson curated an exhibition of work by these three artists: Charles Arnoldi, Ron Cooper, and Laddie John Dill - they had already known each other twenty years. Still Friends After All These Years once again brings together works, old and new, from all three luminaries, whose art, long associated with the California Light & Space movement, engages and challenges the perceptual experience of viewers.

Come celebrate the heroes, stories, and creators that bring our imaginations to life!

This workshop will have a concentrated, robust emphasis on understanding the history and process of underground mini comic creation. This course will be accessible to all adults with varying degrees of interest in the world of self publishing, screenprinting, and linocut. Featured in this workshop will be my collection of comics curated from my personal experience traveling throughout the United States collecting zines delving into an assortment of fun topics from a variety of artists.

The goal of this course will be for everyone to go home with collaborative mini comics created by themselves and their collaborators. It will be a highly interactive workshop that will leave everyone with a thorough understanding of drawing, storytelling, reading comics, creating comic formats, and self expression.

Unearthing Futures / Desenterrando Futuros explores contemporary earthen artworks, establishing a profound dialogue between regional roots and global perspectives. As visitors engage with the exhibition, they embark on a journey through time, examining the intricate relationship between humanity and the elemental material of unfired earth.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM—Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to present Particle and the Wave: Oracles and Symbols for Living and Dying, a solo show by Alex Ponca Stock.

Particle and the Wave features eight abstract artworks that explore the conjunction of modern technological and scientific knowledge with the ancient knowledge handed down from our ancestors. Using the traditional beaded broadcloth found in Osage regalia, Alex Ponca Stock considers a broad array of modern and historical references, including color field painting, early Christian heresies, ancient mound-builders, and quantum physics. The result of her experimentation with larger-scale work, this exhibition is a mature showcase of Ponca Stock’s ability to visually dissect the currents of 21st century life.

Ponca Stock’s practice combines intensive research with the slow, meditative labor of beading to create objects with a strong sense of internal order. The composition of her soft textile works are often reminiscent of the aesthetic of technology—motherboards, logic gates, 3D renderings—without ever betraying the beauty and integrity of the medium. In her choice of color, Ponca Stock is highly attuned not only to the symbolic and emotional power of color, but its physiological effect.

Alex Ponca Stock (b. 1986) is a painter and beadworker from the Gray Horse District of the Osage Nation and the third generation in her family to graduate from the Kansas City Art Institute. Her work has been exhibited by the Denver Art Museum, the First Americans Museum, and the Osage Nation Museum, among others. The artist currently lives and works in Santa Fe, NM.

Family Story Time at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is a chance for children and families to gather, share stories and activities relating to Native American culture, history, and storytelling traditions.

Join Albuquerque's literary and arts community in celebrating PW covington, newly named 2026-27 U.S. National Beat Poet Laureate by the National Beat Poetry Foundation.

A poet, performer, publisher, activist, and longtime Albuquerque resident, PW is the seventh writer to hold this national title. They previously served as New Mexico’s inaugural Beat Poet Laureate and have spent more than three decades carrying poetry beyond conventional literary spaces—from the Havana International Poetry Festival and San Francisco’s Beat Museum to public, community and tribal libraries throughout New Mexico.

PW’s work champions the outsider, the uncredentialed, the working class, the queer, the outlaw and the underground. As National Beat Poet Laureate, they will continue building artistic community and reminding audiences that Beat poetry is not merely a historical movement, but a living and still-evolving tradition of self-determination, autonomy and choice.

Come celebrate this remarkable national recognition for one of Albuquerque’s own—and the poetry, people and possibilities still waiting beyond the mainstream.
